Join FreeFall Magazine’s Digital Launch Party on October 15

Cover image: "Silentium" by Adam Martinakis

While many may be pining for the days of in-person events, virtual launches have released us from geographical restrictions… which means I can be part of FreeFall Magazine’s upcoming launch of Vol. 30, Issue 2. I’ll be reading from my story, “A Tea Party for Nomi," as the third-place winner in this year's prose and poetry contest.

The launch is October 15, 2020, at 7:00 pm MDT, and you can tune in on Facebook or YouTube. Also: raffle prizes! Keep an eye on FreeFall’s Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram feeds for details.

FreeFall is close to my heart. They were the first literary magazine to accept my work, way back in 2006—and that flip from “unpublished” to “published” fiction writer is an unforgettable milestone.

Also, I'm originally from Calgary, where FreeFall is based; both the magazine and the Alexandra Writers’ Centre are important to the local literary scene. (Micheline Maylor, who had just become the magazine’s editor when my piece was accepted in 2006, later became Calgary’s Poet Laureate.)

Plus, I really dig their covers. Haunting and gorgeous.

Hope you can join the launch! ♥
